Subject: My Grandfather’s “Russian” Birth Record

This is my grandfather’s birth record. He was born in 1890 in Garbas, and was baptized in the Bakalarzewo parish.

There is only two things I need to know from this record. One is the occupation of Kazimierz Szwarc at the time of Franciszek’s birth. I have been told the document states he was in the military reserves, but that he had a job, while living in the village of Garbas. I would very much like to know what his occupation was.

The other thing I would like to know is the name of Franciszek’s Godmother. I have been told this says his Godfather was Wojciech Przemielewski. It is thought that the Godmother was Rozalia Przemielewski. I would like to have her first name verified.

I hope someone can read this for me. I would appreicate knowing these two items very much.

zapasnyj soldat – zolnierz-rezerwista – reservist
2. Godfather – Wojciech Przemielewski
Godmother – Rozalia [?]. I think that the first character is ‘Cz’.
